                                 PURPOSE AND SUPPORT   

The goal of the PTSO is to promote education, school pride, and school and community relations. We provide support to the teachers and administration of All Saints’ Episcopal School, while effectively communicating to parent’s current activities and volunteer needs that directly benefit the students.

Each year, the PTSO Board and Representatives work hard to determine the current and future needs of the school.   Goals and commitments are set prior to the new school year to provide for such improvements and enhancements.  PTSO is NOT responsible for the fundraising for ASES. The organization does sponsor their own fund-raisers to support events and activities that directly benefit the school, faculty, students and their families, and the surrounding community. 

Previously PTSO has provided:

• gifts and money for the classroom teachers (for your child)
• library programs (for your child)
• playground equipment (for your child)
• support for the alumni association (for your child)
• support for the golf tournament (proceeds benefit your child)
• Christmas gifts for staff (who supports your child)
• school dances and picnics (for your child/family)
• necessary school items, art supplies, math kits, athletic equipment, etc. (for your child)
• food donations for local food pantry (service lessons for your child)
• staff appreciation lunches (who supports your child)
• snacks/food at events (back to school picnic, Christmas program, Grandparents Day, Fall Festival, Field Day, meetings, etc. (for your child/family)

              PARTICIPATION IS CRUCIAL TO THE SUCCESS OF OUR PTSO!!!

It is common knowledge that parental involvement is the key to a successful school. When parents work with their children’s schools, their teachers experience more support and students learn by example that education is important.

We encourage all parents and teachers to consider a volunteer commitment toward any one of the many activities offered through PTSO. There are a number of ways to become involved.  No time commitment or responsibility is too large or small.  Please review the Calendar of Events to see opportunities where you might like to participate. We also encourage you to talk with current or past volunteers to hear firsthand, the rewards to such a commitment to your child’s school.  The more active parents are, the more the PTSO is able to do each year.

Your generous support assists the students and staff with items and services generally not covered in the school budget. PTSO membership is $25 per family. Please fill out the PTSO Member Form  and return to front office along with member fee (checks made payable to ASES PTSO).  Thank you in advance for your support and interest.

PTSO BOARD AND REPRESENTATIVES RESPONSIBILITIES

President

• Presides over monthly Board and special meetings.
• Establishes dates/times for regular Board meetings.
• Delegate responsibilities for activities/events to appropriate PTSO members.
• Supervises activities and provides guidance to chairperson of designated activity.
• Maintains goals and objectives of the organization.
• Determines and prepares monthly meeting agenda with input from officers and representatives.
• Public spokesperson for PTSO.
• Liaison to school headmaster and chairperson of IAC for approval of new fundraisers and annual event calendar.
• Assist successor with smooth transition of new Board.

Vice-President

• Assumes duties of any Board Member in his/her absence.
• Attend all monthly Board meetings.
• Oversee organization events/activities, providing assistance where necessary.
• Assist with Annual Events Calendar for IAC/School Board approval.
• Acts as an aide to the President, presiding over his/her responsibilities during absence.
• Serves as key contact for the organization-PTSO liaison at IAC Committee Meetings.
• Assist successor with smooth transition of new Board.

Secretary

·        Attend all monthly Board meetings.

·        Records Board meeting minutes.

·        Prepare and distribute typed minutes to PTSO Board, Representatives, and designated school administration.

• Turn over copy of previous year minutes to successor and assist with smooth transition of new Board.

Treasurer

• Attend all monthly Board meetings
• Present monthly Treasurer’s Report at start of all meetings.
• Keeps accurate records of all financial activity.
• Receive, deposit and account for all monetary proceeds from/for any PTSO activities/events.
• Make disbursements of all authorized checks for payment or reimbursement by PTSO.
• Maintain possession of PTSO checkbook, account records, and receipts for fiscal year.
• Turn over all books/files to successor and assist with smooth transition of new Board.

Teacher Representative

• Liaison between teachers and PTSO.
• Attend Board meetings if schedule allows.
• Report upcoming school activities requiring volunteers and publicity.
• Help enlist faculty support and attendance of PTSO sponsored event/activities.
• Advise and share school faculty concerns/needs.

Parent Representative

• Liaison between Room Mothers and PTSO-gathering information, communicating future activities, and enlisting volunteer support when required.
• Attend monthly Board Meetings.
• Oversee/assist with minimum (1) PTSO sponsored event/activity.

Parents, family members, and friends can support ASES PTSO by simply shopping for groceries.  We ask that you register your grocery saving card to the school affiliation number.  Your purchases help raise money for your school.
