·         Cut, copy and paste text to another location in same document

·         Use basic key functions (space bar, return/enter key, shift key, arrow keys, caps lock, delete/backspace, option/alt, tab key, F keys)

·         Use editing tools in drawing and painting (select, add color and pattern, resize, crop, erase)

·         Read and interpret information in a spreadsheet

·         Enter information in an existing database

·         Log-on to e-mail server with user name and password.  Send, retrieve and read e-mail messages

·         Import and arrange graphics in document (copy, paste, wrap text around graphic)

·         Use principles of design (proportion, balance, contrast, rhythm, emphasis, unity)

·         Avoid use of all caps in headlines

·         Format cell attributes on a spread sheet (i.e. Columns, rows, justification, styles, number)

·         Use data from a spreadsheet to create charts and graphs

·         Use basic formulas for adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, averaging and determining percents

·         Use “fill” for multiple entries of the same value or number

·         Cut, copy and paste formulas, values and functions

·         Set decimal place accuracy

·         Create a database: define fields and enter information

·         Copy and transfer files and folders to various locations

·         Format document (margins, headers, footers, page numbering)

·         Format paragraph and page (tab, indent, hanging indent, line spacing outline format)

·         Cut, copy and paste text to another document

·         Create multi-column document

·         Use find/replace, thesaurus, user/custom dictionaries

·         Import/export to other files, formats, documents or applications

·         Merge data from database into word processing documents (i.e. Form letter)

·         Import and export graphics in appropriate file format i.e. Eps, tiff, pict, jpeg, gif)

·         Know appropriate type of graphics application to complete a given task (drawing, painting or photo enhancement)

·         Use age-appropriate software (i.e. Claris Works/Appleworks, PageMaker) for desktop publishing

·         Use nonlinear text features incorporated in web pages (i.e. Frames, hyperlinks and pop-up windows) to read for information

·         Download and store web PFD, audio, video and graphic files specific to information needed and for citing sources

·         Construct key words from research questions and combine with search techniques (i.e. Lower case, “quotes”, +, -, *wildcard, link:, titleJ using search engines
