Dear
Parents,
I hope that your school year is getting off to
a fantastic start. As we
move into September, PTSO is busy planning
many fun-filled events to
enhance the spirit and unison of our school.
PTSO does much to raise money
for our awesome school (and in essence our
children), but our main purpose
is to enhance parental fellowship and
involvement.
I am constantly reminded how quickly our
children grow and how we only have
now to be involved in their lives and what
they are doing. What better way
to show them they are important to us than to
actually be involved in their
activities. Even though we are all so busy,
we ask that you prayerfully
consider how you may contribute to your
child's school community this year.
This can be as simple as baking for our bake
sale or could be a more
involved task such as agreeing to chair an
event or committee. PTSO is a
tremendous way to meet other parents and have
fun.
I will be honest and say that not long ago I
had no idea that I would be
president of the PTSO. I think that I had the
mentality that "someone else
would always be there to do it". I realized
that that's not always the
case and that our school will BE what WE are
willing to put into it. And
is there really anything worth more in
investing in than our children and
their school?
We are planning the year to include many
events that are tried and true
such as the bake sales and Innisbrook wrapping
paper sales, but also look
forward to exploring new and exciting options
to enhance our school. We
look forward to updating you regularly on our
plans and to working with
each of you. We hope that you will consider
signing up for PTSO. Together
we can make 2008-2009 a great school year!
Sincerely,
Annemarie Spain
